The Bread Art Project is Feeding America

Aren't these pieces of toasty art so cool? They're way better than that lameness I've got up top! Well the Grain Food Foundation joined forces with Feeding America to create The Bread Art Project. You can create your own virtual masterpiece by uploading a photo or drawing or creating one from scratch. For every piece created, the Grain Food Foundation will donate $1 (up to $50,000) to Feeding America to help in the fight against hunger and every dollar is equal to seven meals or 10 lbs of food. So far they've raised $25,000 and provided 175,000 meals to families in need! (via Lenorenevermore)

Hunger Stats:

*1 in 8 Americans is struggling with the risk of hunger.

*In 2007, 37.3 million Americans were living in poverty and 13.3 million were children.

* Feeding America's network serves 25 million people annually.

  1. You should totally design on and not only help the project but add it to the blog!! It's like your own branding & marketing project! : )

  2. Kelley's got a point. Maybe a piece of toast with that pretty face of yours on it?

  3. What a wonderful thing for you to support and promote. I love the panda bear.

  4. So cute! What a great cause.

  5. I was going to say the same thing! You should do a Dry As Toast themed one!

  6. huh. So maybe that virgin Mary toast phenomenon was really the doings of these grain artists.

  7. *just looks at the stats about all the hungry americans and shakes his head*

Say word.
